How can we recreate a friendly atmosphere in the workplace in impersonal premises that are unsuited to the working methods of their users?
Researchers at IRIF (Institut de Recherche en Informatique Fondamentale) commissioned a study for the redevelopment of several areas of their premises, located in the Sophie Germain building of the CNRS, in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
These spaces, which were initially ill-suited to the daily needs of researchers, have been redesigned in a flexible manner to become hybrid spaces: places for socializing, individual and collective work, and informal meetings.
To support this transformation, a catalog of custom-made furniture was developed specifically for the project.
